About me: I am passionate about mental health and wellbeing. I have been self-employed since 2008, after 14 years working in NHS mental health services and at the Department of Health in different roles in frontline services and facilitating partnerships and change at a policy level. I balance my workload today in private practice (in York, Leeds and online) and with consultancy with organisations.
My approach: Clients feed back that my approach is calm, insightful and compassionate. Sessions are designed to help you feel comfortable being yourself, to build awareness about what is happening, work out what you want and help you to achieve it. It's about working in a really productive partnership so we can explore important issues, "hold the mirror up", be curious and enable you to achieve the change and growth you're looking for.
With couples and families, I use what is called a diamond approach. This has the potential for individual and couples’ sessions, depending on your preference and goals. This work may be all in-person or on video calls where relationships and families are spread out geoographically.
Qualifications: Human Givens Psychotherapy Diploma, ILM in Executive Coaching, Accredited ADHD Assessor, ADHD and autism coach and systemic team coaching certificates. NLP Practitioner, Emotional Intelligence Practitioner. Qualified organisational development facilitator.
Other specialist training and interests include trauma and complex PTSD, couples therapy, neurodiversity, gender identity, narcissism awareness, suicide prevention, mindfulness, eating disorders, complex mental and physical health, hormones and mental health. Trained in mediation, restorative practice and conflict transformation.
Memberships: Member of the MHGI and EMCC.
