Therapy sessions
We offer a free 20 minute consultation via telephone or video call if you would like to speak with your therapist or coach before the first session. Or you may prefer to book in your first session and talk then.
We recommend the first session is 90 minutes long to give you the time and space to get to know each other, begin to share insights and take away useful advice and suggestions from the outset. After this, sessions may be 60 or 90 minutes, and in some cases may be as short as 30 minutes. We flex to meet the individual needs of each person, couple or family.
The human givens approach is flexible and tailored to you. You can book one session at a time and meet at a pace that works for you. We are here to support you to achieve your goals within the shortest time possible.
Our fees
Our standard fee is £95 for an hour's session and £142.50 for a 1.5 hour session. These fees apply to individual, couples and family therapy.
Fees for any other session length are calculated pro rata. (For example, you may agree with your therapist to do 30 minute check ins towards the end of your therapy).
We can offer flexible rates through trainees who work at the centre. (Trainees have completed all of their training and need to accumulate practice hours in order to finalise their qualification).
We also have a small number of spaces for reduced fees with our accredited psychotherapists, which is for people with financial challenges.
ADHD assessment and coaching
ADHD Assessments are currently only undertaken with our current clients. We do this so that we can assure that assessments are of the highest quality, as we build an in-depth knowledge of each person and can assure you of an accurate and reliable assessment result.
The assessment process is designed to meet the NICE gold standard for ADHD assessments. It begins with ADHD and physical health screening before the full assessment is carried out. The full assessment is only undertaken if the screening meets the NICE guidelines threshold.
All assessments are undertaken by a minimum of two trained assessors. Different to many other providers, all detailed work and exploration is completed face-to-face, either in-person or on a video call.
The assessment is designed to be completed within 4-6 weeks.
We also have a team of qualified ADHD coaches at the York Centre. If there is a positive ADHD diagnosis and you are in paid work, an apprentice, self employed, in work experience or about to start a job within 12 weeks, we can signpost you to apply for a DWP grant to help with funding for ADHD coaching.
Our fees
Our fee for a full assessment is £800. This breaks down as £100 for the initial screening and £700 for the detailed assessment.
